Hey, Happy Friday. ❤️
Camas Days is here! Spent the afternoon with Natalie and the kids downtown, and it really was pure magic. Just like the Car Show last month—every smile, every shared moment, felt like Disney with that signature Main Street USA vibe.
Days like this are why we choose Camas as our home. You can't replicate the warmth of a small town, the sense of a close-knit community. We aren't just customers buying coffee or books, picking up veggies from the farmers' market. We're friends. We're neighbors. For some, it almost feels like family.
It’s like living inside a Norman Rockwell painting. A little bit of Mayberry. The energy was infectious, and for a moment, I was taken back to my own childhood. My favorite movie back then was The Sandlot, and I sat all summer at my lemonade stand trying to earn money to go see it at the dollar theater. Today, watching children running around, not a care in the world, that nostalgia washed over me.
It's the idyllic life my wife and I worked hard to provide for our young kids. Something I yearned for in my youth, and now I have the privilege of giving it to them.
And guess what? Tomorrow we’re gonna step into that painting because my fam and I are going to be in the parade. We'll be out there, handing out some of my artwork (and, of course, throwing candy).
This is a special moment for us because it mirrors one of my mom’s first memories that she shared with her father—my grandpa. And now, my little girl, at the age of three, gets to recreate that experience with me. It’s not just special.. it’s priceless.
So, Camas, you’ve got my heart. I know get passionate here, but that's only because I genuinely care. My family and I moved here in the summer of 2020, and we plan on staying for decades. Our dream is to preserve the charm that makes Camas so unique.
Will you join us tomorrow? Hope so because we’re looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces this weekend.
❤️ See ya tomorrow!
