Wow! The Camas Days Parade truly was a storybook experience rooted in the heartwarming reality of our town.
Dressed as Robin Hood, leading a band of pre-K adventurers in our stroller-wagon caravan, we were met with a sea of supportive faces (and surprising endorsements).
Comments on how fitting the Robin Hood costume was just affirmed the power of shared values and unity, the very essence of our movement.
We’re coming together with a common goal, which creates a common bond.
Gotta give big kudos to all the remarkable volunteers who coordinated Camas Days, transforming it into a unique experience for everyone.
And heartfelt gratitude to my team: Tony, with his handy crafting of the PVC harness for our banner sign, Dave and Sharon, who generously provided their vintage 1959 Nash Metropolitan, their friends Helene and Marc who sat in the parade seat and waved our signs, the Camas Montessori families who joined our parade, and John, who expertly juggled both banner-carrying duties with newborn strapped to his chest!
However, amidst the joy and excitement, reality struck. The day's intense heat resulted in my daughter experiencing heatstroke! While soothing her with popsicles and ice cream to bring down her 103° temp, we dreamed of the sensible pool we must rebuild for our community — a dream that together we’ll make a reality.
By the way, we’re approaching the end of "primary" season (despite our primary's cancelation), and we hope you can lend your support. For an outsider and newcomer like me the most important thing to do is get the message out with materials.
We’re gearing up for the next stage and contributions of any size are welcomed, crucial, and dearly appreciated. As you know, it’s all hands on deck to win this.
Moreover, if you'd like to make your voice heard right from your front yard, please reply to this and we’ll happily deliver a sign (or two!) directly to your door.
(saw some by Crown Park yesterday and they looked great!!)
Thank you again for reading and for your support.
In unity, camaraderie, and shared purpose, we’ll march together towards a brighter future for Camas.
