Embracing the Superhero Spirit in Downtown Camas

Tomorrow's First Fridays downtown should be a blast, and my fam is hyped. This month, Camas is hosting its own Comic Con for the first time. After watching my daughter have so much fun dressing up and hanging with Robin Hood, I figured why not go full superhero?

These sorts of events are often huge, overwhelming affairs geared for adults, but Camas is bringing the fun to a local level, where kids and families can enjoy the magic without feeling flooded with people. Gonna be like Halloween in August.

Celebrating Community and Creativity with the Downtown Camas Association (DCA)

Big thanks to Carrie Schulstad and the entire team at the DCA for making events like these possible. Their dedication to community engagement, historic preservation, and creative fun has made our downtown a thriving center for residents and visitors alike.

They've been working on this for nearly 15 years, fostering a mix of small-town charm and community activities, and their commitment to making downtown Camas a special place to gather, enjoy, and belong is truly inspiring.

What makes this even more special is the rich history of Camas, a history that is beautifully captured in the oral history videos created by Discovery High School students back in 2019.
