Hey friends, it’s Ry.
There are defining moments for cities and tonight might prove to be another one. On City Council’s workshop agenda is discussion on the Everett St Corridor Project. While we need to improve our road infrastructure, it’s vital that this transformation respects the soul of our community, including small businesses like our beloved Acorn & the Oak.
They Need Your Voice – Tonight at 4:30 PM
Here’s What’s at Stake:
Local Business Viability: Recommended plan will take Acorn’s parking lot may result in the closing of their business if adequate spots aren’t included.
Accessibility for All: Any solution must ensure everyone, regardless of their personal mobility, can access and enjoy what our community has to offer.
Clarity on the Details: While we’ve been invited to open houses, many still feel in the dark about crucial aspects like proposed budget and timeline.
How Can You Make a Difference?
Join at City Hall: Your physical presence speaks volumes. While later in the agenda, aim to arrive around 4:30 PM to hear public comment.
Zoom In: Can’t be there in person? No worries. Your virtual attendance is just as crucial. Life’s about showing up, any way you can. [Zoom Link]
This Meeting is About You
Remember, this isn’t just about road layouts, roundabouts, or Acorn’s parking. It’s preserving the heart and spirit of our neighborhood while still embracing change.
It's making sure progress includes everyone's voice, especially the small businesses and residents who are the backbone of our community.
Things are rarely black and white and there’s always a third way. And productive, constructive dialogue between the city and the community will help us find it.
Thanks for standing with Chuck and Janessa. I know your support means the world to them—it means a lot to others who who live here, too.
Online or in person, see you soon.
